Inspiration

Paul Jackson- One day I was looking at groups that featured watercolor paintings that artists had posted. I was looking for some inspiration as well as just enjoying the show. The I came across a painting of the inside of a cathedral and I just stopped and stared. I could not believe it was a painting. Amazing. Eventually I moved on through the gallery and came across a painting of a number of small colored glasses. Again, I thought it was a photograph. When I looked who the artists were, I saw that both paintings were by Paul Jackson. I sent a quick message just saying how amazing his work was. He very graciously thanked me. I have since become friends with Paul and his wife Marla. His work continues to inspire me and I think it will you too. Even if you don't paint just take a minute and look at his work. Check him out at www.pauljackson.com.

Chris Beck- The first painting I saw of Chris’s was of a morning glory. The color was amazing. But what really was cool about it was the background had a pattern in it. It just caught me by surprise. When I went to her site she does paintings of these antique toys and salt and pepper shakers. The colors and reflections make them look just like they came from Grandma’s house. I’ve gotten to know Chris a little bit and learned she is originally from Manitowoc Wisconsin. If you would like to see more of Chris's work visit www.chrisbeckstudio.com

Jane Freeman- Is an artist who I met on Facebook. I have been so pleasantly surprised at how gracious and sharing the artists I have met on Facebook are. With Jane’s work I love the light. Everything just seems like it is drenched in sunshine. But with Jane I think it is her early morning postings that most inspire me. I have told her a number of times she also needs to consider having her writing accompany her paintings. Her love of nature and the pleasure she draws from the world around her each morning have helped me look for the beauty out my back window.
